it's a rainy day

Yes, you read correctly. No, your eyes don't deceive you. It's raining in Los Angeles today. Thunder's rumbling, lightning's flashing, it's great. This is my only break in a projected 13 hour day. 13 hours from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. But I woke up at 8:30. So I have Avid training for Trojan Vision from 2:00 till about 6:00, and Campus Cruiser training from 6:40 till about 11:00. So I got me some Carl's Jr., sat down, and I'm blogging. I should be doing homework for tomorrow, but I'll just not sleep tonight (as usual).

Speaking of homework, I might as well go home now, since I'm never doing homework again. I've discovered NPR, and all of my time is now devoted to listening to concerts and interviews in their free (yes, free) archive section. This shit is incredible. So far I've listened to a Secret Machines concert and a Decemberists concert, with a Kings of Leon one waiting in the wings. Sadly, it is radio, so it's just audio, but since Secret Machines don't have a live album, and they're not coming my way anytime soon, this is pretty good.

I'm itching for a trip to Amoeba, and I wanna see Everything is Illuminated really bad. But I'm friggin' busy for the next week. Campus Cruiser training is cool. I get to learn 10-codes (10-4, and such) and take phone calls, and be a dispatcher, along with actually driving people around. Lost: Season 1 is in transit, so that'll take some time out of my life. And I'm fucking pissed that I have to miss the Nip/Tuck premiere tonight because I'm getting trained. Super fucking pissed.

On the positive side, the White Sox are choking like that one guy who smart-mouthed Darth Vader, I watched Garden State last night (and it was as good as always, if not better), and the A's are right on the edge. They're totally gonna break out now and dominate the AL West. Just watch.

Currently enjoying:

All Songs Considered on NPR

Next ish: Lots of work today and tomorrow and the next day. Friday is pretty tame, but I'll find something to fill up space. Maybe watch some Pulp Fiction, yes? 10-23. That means stand by.

I checked on Google Earth and there isn't a cloud anywhere near LA, you better think twice before you try and pull this shit again.

McNally, stay inside. We just learned in Geology 100 that rain in California is HIGHLY acidic. I'm assuming it will melt you upon contact. I hope it's not too late...

Oh also, McNally, remember Sufjan Stevens that I think Andy showed you?? Andy originally got that from NPR all things considered. I listen to the archive quite a bit actually too after Andy got me hooked. Too bad you have to wait for Lost as I got mine a week ago and have already watched all of the episodes. By the way, are you a Scrubs fan?? I just got Season 1 on DVD from a friend and it is awesome. Smallville is still the best, I love you Mark. Keep in touch and take care.
